00.2. Time-Space of I.E.

Big rain fell down from the sky about one noon...... E. was not in the pool. I played my electrical notepad under the shelter of the villa house and didn't know where she went......The sea is so great, just like the sky......What things hide in there?.......Why she likes the sea so much?.......

The wet weather with pouring rain made me feel a bit headache........ Maybe she just existed in my illusion, and how about the beach scene in front of my eyes?......The pool?......The villa house?......And the palm trees?..............Are they all my illusion, too?......

我想起曾經翻閱一些詮釋《易經》的冊子，海洋就像澤卦.........But why?......也許因為其卦象是 011，如果以左上右下的方向來看 011，可以約略看出海洋的特性是淺處有 0、愈深愈多 1 ......Mermaid's homeland must be located in the deep sea, but not the deepest, I guess......

這 011 ......那些水面的浪珠、泡沫、高高低低又零零星星的海浪，是不是 0 呢？......而 1 又是不是那些海裡的奇奧與未知呢？

That night the falling rain was very loud with thunder, but I thought it might cool down the hot weather......At that time I prepared to re-arrange my translating texts of the first two quas in 易經 -- 乾卦 and 坤卦, and tried to put them into The Story of I.E..

Does Mermaid E. hear the sounds of rains and thunders in the deep sea?.......I thought she does, but not as loud as I heard.....because the volume of sounds would be reduced by water and become weak......

I thought before writing The Story of I.E., I should mention something, because of 易經 seems like some kind of closed-system knowledge, it's a time-space of mind, but it has four quas marked the entry and exit, they are the first two quas and last two quas. That means 易經 is not totally a closed-system time-space, but an opened-system time-space with not obvious entry and exit, just like Poker, it must involve Jokers.

Why I say that?.....Because of the ancient Hanese culture used "六十甲子"......it means "60 甲子"......to mark the dates and times, and 易經 has 64 quas, that means there are four quas define the time-space of 易經, and the other 60 quas just like a time-watch or a watch of time......Each qua was divided to six yaos, I mean 爻......... or six micro-quas,...... and then you must find 易經 just like a full circle with 360 degrees in the geometry of arithmetics.

考古學家曾經從殷商文明的廢墟之中、刻有象形文字的甲骨板片上發現，據今3000多年以前的「殷商文明」已經使用「六十甲子」來記錄日期和時間。

So, you can imagine the form of time-space of I.E., it seemed like a ball-shape space, the shelter or the sky-dome structure included the invisible central axis of this space was 乾 (111111), the inner turning level or the flat ground of this space was 坤 (000000), then the 既濟 (010101) and 未濟 (101010) just liked two hands out of the ball-shape space for controlling the space to reduce the speed of rotating around or increase the speed of rotating around and create the time of this space.

What's the difference between 既濟 (010101) and 未濟 (101010)?......以左上右下的方式看,......to look or feel one of their image characters,......既濟 (010101) was slow, just liked a rotating wheel pushed by heat or energy under the cold water; 未濟 (101010) was fast, just liked a rotating wheel pushed by heat or energy above the cold water.

That meant ....... the stars and galaxies included the hot ones and cold ones which surrounded the time-space of I.E. in the outer space of the universe were all those hands of controlling the time........According to this concept of 易經, actually the whole universe which included the invisible parts was a great time machine to the mind or consciousness of human being.

As matter of fact, some astronomical scientists had imagined the Milky Way Galaxy that involves the Solar System and the Earth was looked like a flat-round disk consisted by countless dusts or sands from the macro vision,....... and its whole space form was also looked like an unobvious flat ball formed by its gravity.

Why the space of the Milky Way Galaxy was looked like a flat ball and the Earth was looked like a round ball?......I thought the reason was the rotating around the speed of the Milky Way Galaxy was faster than the self rotating around the speed of the Earth.

E. came back to the pool, she put some shining small and round rocks on the pool side.

"Are you ready to write The Story about I.E.?"

"Thinking could be very quickly, but sometimes it's hard to describe........"

"If you are living in the sea, sometimes you can't recognize which thought belongs to yourself......Too many sound waves come via the water......That's why I like staying in the quiet deep sea."

"Thought?......Do you have the ability to control the thought of yourself?"

"Leaving the sea,.....landing on the ground,.....then you might get your own thought, but if you want to look forward or think through out of the space, the speed of your thought must be faster than the gravity-speed of the space you are.......Can you?"

I thought one of the ancient Hanese pictogram of word symbols -- 中 might roughly reveal the form of the Milky Way Galaxy and mark the 乾 (111111) as the Sky Axis which was an invisible line straights to the center point of this galaxy, and the 坤 (000000) as the Ground Disk or Cumulus Field which was consisted by countless stars and planets, and so on........

00.1. Mermaid E.

Once upon a time, I walked out my castle on the top of the mountain, passed through small path under trees and went down to the beach, then I saw a strange mermaid sitting on a big dark rock at a corner of the seaside. Her naked body was still wet and covered by her shining long hairs drooping from her head, her eyes looked like the deep sea.

I couldn't stand to walk near her slowly and try to watch what she was, I guessed she might go back to the sea as she finding someone move closer to her,......but she didn't,.......she looked straight to my curious eyes.

"I'm sitting here and waiting for you for a long time,......I think it's time to tell you something,........something about what are you thinking........"

During those days, I tried to decode a very old and mysterious scripture in Hanese ancient culture,......it was called 易經, so called "The Book of Changes".

In fact, I had ever written down some decoding words which according to the first two quas ...... I meant 乾卦 (111111) and 坤卦 (000000) of the 易經 ......in my researching texts of the theory about dream and consciousness. (P.S. Reference article：《易經》作者的夢幻之旅 --

"You know......I'm trying to write a story about 易經?......The Story of I.E. ......How can you know that?"

"There is no secret in the great sea......"

"Why?......."

"Rainwaters fall down from the sky, through the mountains and lands,......it's kept in all trees and grasses, even in your body and my body...... All these waters will flow into the sea,.......all the messages will deliver into the sea."

"I have ever heard someone say......messages just like the dusts in the air, in the wind, and in our breathing......"

"Yes!......What you think will slightly wave the air and wave the sea, too........That's why I feel something about your thoughts......"

When I got close to her, I was a little astonished, because I found what she sitting on was not a big rock,......it was a big turtle!......That made me remember I had ever seen, many ancient pictograms and the words were written on the shells of turtles in the Hanese early cultural history.

And......I also found......actually she was not a normal mermaid as some fiction stories told, because her body hadn't fishtail, but had a pair of nice legs with smooth skin. All the differences in the ordinary human kind were she had a head of very long hairs which almost extending to her thighs, and both of her hands had six fingers with golden color fingernails.

"You mean......you can help me to write The Story of I.E.?"

"Help?....... I cannot help you by myself alone,.......but if you have a pool connected with the sea,......maybe I will listen to the sounds of the sea and tell you something........"

What I have written above here was the reason why I designed and built a pool with some fountains and a leisure villa at the seaside on my land.

"May I.......ask you......what's your name?"

"You may call me E."

"That's a cool name......"

"E......live in SEA."

"And, I......live in MIND?"

Why E. wanted a pool beside the beach? Because of ......she liked the sea more than the pool, she could come into the pool and go back to sea by the water path connected between sea and pool as her own will, she liked the freedom in moving and swimming.

Sometimes she was hard to talk about what she had heard from the water, and became very quiet,......just liked that turtle I had ever seen at the first time when I saw her,.......but that was not problem, because I just liked her stay in the pool and let me feel not all alone by myself.

00.0. 易的故事 -- The Story of I.E.

在「易的故事 -- The Story of I.E.」開始以前，一定要先認識一下，什麼是「君子」。因為，在「易的故事」中，「君子」是個重要的角色。可以說，沒有「君子」，就沒有《易經》，也就沒有「易的故事」了。

在東方古老的時代，大約距今 3000 年左右以前，甚至更早的時代，喜歡觀察、記錄、寫字、推理的人，通常被稱為「君子」。「君子」本來的意思就是「拿著手寫桿在記錄板上記載文字的人」。也許可以這麼說，「君子」和「記者」(journalist ) 意思差不多，但是「君子」的意思更廣泛，應該稱之為「易者」或「記易者」，也就是以圖畫和文字來記錄觀測事物的變化，甚至據以作出推理預測或決定判斷的人 (journalist with the ability of predicational judgement)，可能相當於 English 中的 judge，甚至類似漢字版《聖經 (Holy Bilble).舊約》中所謂的「士師」 (Hebrew 發音 sha-phat')、古埃及文明 (Ancient Egyptian Civilization) 中所謂的「法老」(Pharaoh)。

「君」的前身叫作「尹」。在早期殷商文明中，「尹」的地位相當於輔佐國王的宰相，而「君」則比較像是做「沙盤推演」的人，甚至他本身就是個拓荒的小國王、地方的國王或是儲備國王，而中央的國王也是「君」，或是被稱為「大君」。一般而言，「君」的領地可以稱為「郡」，「郡」中有「群」，「君」的居室大的叫作「宭」、小的叫作「窘」、寬敞如大廳的叫作「唐」，而類似「長袍」的「裙」則可能是「君」的標準衣著之一。

這些「尹」、「君」、「大君」、「君子」等等都是主要的「易者」之一，可能就是漢字文化中最早運用圖形和文字符號的資訊處理者、知識份子或智者，他們仰觀天文、俯察地理、知人擅任、推理計畫、通商貿易，也是建立東方文明的一批先行者。

那麼，「易」又是什麼呢？

「易」就是意念之物。心物間的意念、意思、意想、意像、意圖、印象、影像、映像、鏡影、光影等都是一種「易」。「易」就像一張紙，可以變易、可以容易、可以交易、可以不易，可以為之於記錄、為之於策畫、計算、臆測。因此，算籌是易、媒體是易、替代品也是易、金錢券票也是易，語文、圖形、符號等等也都是一種易。

這些種種和「易」有關的記錄，後來被作了某種系統化的歸納和整理，於是就成了《易經》。

在《易經》之中，「易」是意識運轉之器，其範圍由乾、坤、既濟、未濟居於四方，由乾天、坤地入圍，由既濟、未濟出關，其餘六十卦就像六十甲子，是易的細節刻度。所以，定乾天、坤地而空間生，知既濟、未濟則時間起，意識以跨躍的方式產生空間、以轉變的方式產生時間。

《易經》中的卦爻有「初、二、三、四、五、上」之分，這是訊息傳遞並且通過心智處理的過程。由初步開始到至極為止，止而窮，窮則變，變則通，通而易。

《易經》用陰陽符號來象徵表意，陰和陽的符號本來就像算籌一樣，只是個表意的媒介物，本身是沒有什麼特定的意思。兩個短畫如虛線般的「陰」和一個長畫如實線般的「陽」在基本圖像中可能只代表「斷」和「連」，或「分」和「合」，是讀易的人自己賦予它某種意思，於是就產生不同的詮釋。

《易經》陰陽斷連的觀念很有趣，就如同大腦的運作一樣，許多思想的形成是因為腦細胞神經元的連結或分離纔賦予感覺到的事物產生不同的關聯和意義。由此觀之，一隻大象之所以被視為一個完整的個體，是因為我們的大腦在資訊的處理中把牠的各部分聯繫在一起，又把牠和其他的事物分離。其實呢，大象也有可能根本就是森林的一部份，或是地球的一部份，甚至是宇宙的一部份呢！東漢時期一位著名的易者鄭玄在《易論》中說的很耐人尋味「易一名而含三義：易簡一也；變易二也；不易三也。」。例如，電腦中的「0」與「1」在機器語言中代表「斷電 - OFF」與「通電 - ON」，是電腦系統中恆常不變的簡易的基本語言，但是經過轉譯，又可以變易出不同的程式語言，傳遞及表達、呈現各種訊息。在「易的故事」中，每一卦的數字編碼，就以 0 和 1 來代表「陰爻 - -」和「陽爻 一」。

由於《易經》裡的文字和詞彙具有「易性」，也就是帶有象徵化、簡易化、變易化的特質，因此一個字詞可能有多種延伸性的解釋，要看該字詞用在那個文句中，而且在邏輯上能夠講得通，這是解碼《易經》最基本的常識和最關鍵的概念。例如：「吉」字可能在不同的句子中有不同的意思，可以是結果、結束、連結、取得連繫、喜悅...... 等意思。「凶」字則有沉陷、區分、區別、區劃、區隔、隔斷、盤算、計算、延遲、凶險、難過、過不去......等意思。又例如：「勿」字可能代表較小的物體、微物、霧狀、稀疏、不夠清楚、隱隱約約、若有若無、幾乎沒有、幾乎不......等意思。「用」字可能代表使用、作用、用途、通常、通行、通過、模式、模樣......等意思。「卜」有分析、拆解、理解、解析、判斷、計畫、規畫......等意思。「占」則是點陣式分析、矩陣式分析、方格式分析......等等。「咎」是錯誤、差錯、誤差、意外、錯怪、驚奇、發佈警訊......等等。

須知，《易經》最早是古人用來探索宇宙人生的偵測分析輔助工具，它的文字內容自然會經常出現這類和觀測、計算、推理有關的用語，也就是和古人所謂的「象、數、理」有關的術語，這也是為何筆者把「易」翻譯為 I.E. 的原因。因為，「易」就是 I & E，I 就是 Interface (介面)、就是 Interchange (交易)、就是 Interpret (詮譯)、就是 Internet (網路)；E 就是帶有「心靈心電圖」(electrocardiogram of mind) 性質的、古人用來輔助迷惑徬徨的人進行「抉擇」(Election) 或「探索」(Explore) 等斟酌事物的簡便工具。

《易經》裡的每一卦都代表一種媒介或媒體互動的形式，「卦辭」和「爻辭」似乎就是記載了當時導致原始漢字文明逐漸演變的種種關鍵的事蹟。那麼，當時究竟發生了什麼事情呢？為何《易經》的作者要把它們記錄下來呢？《易經》裡的文字究竟透露出什麼線索呢？

有了上述的基本概念，「易的故事 -- The Story of I.E.」就開始了：
